Antahparimarjan ( Internal Purification ):

Antahparimarjan chikitsa is done to treat vitiated body doshas which has caused diseases of koshta & shankh Pradesh. Disease causing vitiated doshas are loosen and brought to koshta & then released from there to treat diseases. Antahparimarjan chikitsa is performed in two ways:

Shodhan:

Body Detoxification by purify, pacify & removing the cause. The complete process is called Panchakarma. Panchakarma plays a very important role in treatment of physical & psychological diseases.

Shaman:

This is the procedure to pacify the disease by internal medication (Ayurveda Medicines).

Bahirparimarjan ( External Purification ):

It is the treatment done by external application of medicines which majorly involves purvakarma of anchakarma like Sneham, Svedan, Lepam, Udwartan etc. It helps to increase the blood circulation, release any body blockages, bring doshas to koshta & also helps to release vitiated doshas through sweat. It is also used in treatment of skin disorders by lepam & pain management by marma chikitsa or oil therapy.

Shastrapranishan ( Surgical therapy ):

When there is any disease in which medicine is less of use then surgical therapy is done like in fracture and arsha ( Piles ), arbud, granthi etc where extra mass has to be removed to stop further spread of infection.
